An Invitation to Get Your Game On

So, you really want to see inside the video game market… and you also want to play with the world’s most advanced technology within the most awesome storylines… Right?

THEN let me invite you to the largest Gamer event in the country, Pax East next Friday-Sunday March 11, 12, 13 at the Convention Center (Seaport district).

If I emailed you, then I got you a ticket… if you or your coolest replicant can make it. Please (one of you) RSVP to me ASAP - since the event is sold out, I can try to get more. let me know.

Friday (3/11) mid morning is a great time to meet there. But I will be around most of the weekend.

FYI - Here is my post about this killer event last year...

PaxEast is the Video Game Industry's 3-ring circus in Boston this weekend... Come out and see what the kids are doing. Yeah, I know, "kids of all ages"... Think SXSW with carpel tunnel.

Video Games have been giving Marketers a wake-up call for decades, Wake up! The success of this industry is a new model for all Media, The key is the relationship with the consumers... the audience is constantly helping to redefine and reinvent the product and the entire industry.

Join in the reindeer games and learn more at the Game industry monthly gathering - Boston Bost Mortem (the 2nd largest Game Industry regular gathering in the country - really!)

Back to Pax...

The diversity of games was amazing from Yu-GI-Oh card sharing to Electronic Arts with titles like Skate3 (we hung out with Chris "Cuz" Parry, the nicest guy in the room, talking about real physics in gameplay). The new Rockstar title Red Dead Redemption had the longest line... gotta love being a cowboy.

The smartest promotion was a mobile text "booth scavenger hunt" that Turbine sponsored with the help of cool Boston tech company SCVNGR - very cool way to experience the event!

Harmonix had a fun live music bar scene for Rock Band (Beatles is great but the new Hendrix Pack will be with us next week!)

The most impressive demo was by Nvidia and their 3-D glasses and "pulse" technology. It SO worked while racing the hairpins or strafing through a jungle battle.

Check out this summary of these 6 Indie Showcase winners. And get your game on!

Boston Globe has details about the crowds and the event heading next year to the Boston Convention Center.

For more, read the "Medium At Large" Blog by Reed Exhibitions Pop Culture Group. Their other events are just as cool as Pax - New York Comic Con, C2E2, Star Wars Celebration V, UFC Fan Expo and the New York Anime Fest.

Here is a great panel about Journalists versus Developers... Thanks to Irrational Games...
